Middelburg SAPS confiscated 19 bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R81 570 during a roadblock that was executed on the R56 between Middelburg and Steynsburg. A Quantum taxi with a trailer was stopped and during the search, the dagga was discovered.
A 28-year-old male was detained for questioning and later released. A case of dealing in dagga was registered and is still under investigation. With the Festive Season gaining momentum, the police in the Cradock Cluster have shown that illegal activities will not be tolerated within this cluster. Brig Madoda Zamkana, Cluster Commander for the Cradock Cluster said, “We will be intensifying our operations during this festive season and the claws are out for those who undermine the safety and security of the country.”
