I don’t know why, but this picture really makes me sad. To me it portrays the utter desolation of being in a cheap motel in a desolate desert town with a population of 196 and pouring down rain. If I had been alone it would have been unbearable, but I know that just behind me were my husband and my goofy bull terrier. I defy anyone to be unhappy after 5 minutes in Nigel’s company.
