Tomorrow, 10 March 2026, the Democratic Alliance (DA) will launch the first of their mayoral campaigns in local municipalities when they announce their Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality Mayoral Candidate in Aberdeen.
The Mayoral Candidate will be announced by DA EC Provincial Leader, Andrew Whitfield MP, DA EC Provincial Chairperson, Yusuf Cassim MPL, and Dr Beyers Naude Constituency Leader, Samantha Graham-Maré MP.
The candidate is a DA stalwart in Dr Beyers Naude and has a wealth of institutional knowledge to turn the fortunes of this collapsing municipality around.
The launch will be broadcast live on the DA Eastern Cape Facebook page.
The Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality is balanced on a knife-edge, with the ANC and its coalition partners clinging to a one-seat majority. Under the ANC, the municipality’s finances have collapsed, and they are unable to consistently keep the lights on and provide water in taps. Basic service delivery has become a distant dream.
The upcoming Local Government Elections promise to be a groundbreaking opportunity for residents to vote in a hard-working, clean, and effective DA government that delivers services to all.
Only the DA can get Dr Beyers Naude working.
