This is downtown Jackson Wyoming at dusk. This Jack Dennis Outdoor Shop is like a toyshop for me. www.jackdennis.com/ If we didn’t have Cabela’s & BassPro in Phoenix, I would have been like a kid in a candy store. Jack Dennis is legendary in the fly-fishing community and this is a great fly-fishing outfitter.
We had a great family vacation at Jackson Wyoming. We stayed at a friends townhouse at Teton Shadows and spent a lot of time in Jackson. That’s my son Jason in the black shirt over the gentleman’s shoulder.

Jack Dennis Going His Own Way

Fly-fishing enthusiasts in Jackson Hole Wyoming are now seeing double. As in two Jack Dennis stores. As a result of a reported dispute with business partners, Dennis, a Jackson Hole fly-fishing icon, opened a new store on the corner of King Street and Pearl Avenue last week. The rustic wooden building will sell retail supplies – including flies – offer guided fishing trips down the Snake River and give casting lessons at Teton Pines. A museum is also in the works for the second level of the new store, which will feature mementos such as flies and rods used by fly-fishing pioneer Bob Carmichael.
Dennis spent the winter working on a series of instructional fly fishing and fly tying DVDs for Cabelas but is now focusing his efforts on his new store. If you are in town, stop in and check out the new diggs!
