Pub landlords Jonathan and Leah Wainwright are the toast of the town after winning a national pub award.
The pair, licensees at the Cradock Arms in Knighton Road, Leicester, have won the award for Best Cellar Pub in the UK in The Publican’s Morning Advertiser’s Great British Pub Awards during their first year in charge.

The pub qualified for the finals after securing the title of Best Cellar Pub in the Midlands and Wales region earlier in the year.
Jonathan, 49, said: “It was a proud moment and a great accomplishment to win a national award.
“We took over the Cradock Arms when it was nothing and, thanks to a great team, we’ve really turned things around.”
With many pubs closing down across the country, Jonathan said the Cradock Arms was “going the other way” thanks to its popular restaurant and refurbishment by Everards.
They were entered into the competition by Everards.
The couple received the award in Mayfair, London, beating seven other finalists.
