As a big fan of the whole 90s’ ‘Brit Rock’ era, it was great to see Steve Cradock perform in such an intimate venue.
With support coming from local artists, it was The Harassments who got the night started, before The Realists took over and whipped The Rifle Club into a frenzy. Grant Melin followed with his well crafted acoustic set which received a wonderful reaction from the steadily crowing crowd.
With the Rifle Club raring to go, Steve Cradock and his band took to the stage to a warm welcome. It must have felt strange for the former Ocean Colour Scene man to play in such a cosy venue, but it didn’t show as the band dove straight into their acoustic set of tracks old and new. The crowd loved it as the band’s soft, nostalgic sound that echoed of past greats such as the Beatles flooded the Fratton venue. It was a cracking gig.
